This program is offered and operated by Brecht Stables & Dustin’s Place as an independent contractor.

Participants meet at Brecht Stables & Dustin’s Place, 6737 Concord Rd Cumming, GA 30028.

Theme: Pokemon Social Skills Challenge, each session has a different theme

A horse does not show judgement and has an exceptional way to integrate therapy aspects without truly feeling like you are doing therapy. Horses can teach students how to improve their awareness of body language and socialization by studying the horse’s movements and how they interact with each other. We can then connect that experience and learning to situations that students face in their everyday lives. Horses hold a powerful presence and it has been proven that when an individual does therapy with such a large animal, they feel more confident and competent in themselves and their surroundings. Work with the horse is experiential, meaning that the students are given the opportunity to learn about themselves through these sessions and create their own conclusion to a given problem. Students have the opportunity to play out their answers with the guidance of an equine specialist and the staff.

The students are allowed the opportunity to think freely and try out many hats in a safe and educated arena.

Participants must have closed toed shoes.

Registration paperwork and medical packet must be complete before student is allowed into the program.
